All About Drinks (www.allaboutdrinks.xyz) is a free, independent educational encyclopedia of drinks. We have no accounts, no paywall and nothing to sell you, so we are able to keep data collection to a genuine minimum. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what we deliberately do not collect.

What we do not collect

We do not require registration, and we never ask for your name, date of birth, address, payment details or location. We do not build advertising profiles of readers, and we do not sell, rent or trade personal data with anyone, ever.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, which pages are read and how readers find them. GA4 is configured with IP anonymisation and runs under Google Consent Mode, which means analytics cookies are only set after you consent via our banner; without consent, GA4 receives only cookieless, aggregated signals. Traffic from the site's own administrators is excluded from reports so our figures reflect real readers. We use analytics solely to improve the encyclopedia — for example, to see which drink profiles need expanding.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address — nothing more. Subscription uses double opt-in: you must confirm via a link emailed to you before you are added, so nobody can sign you up without your knowledge. Every issue contains an unsubscribe link that works immediately, and you can also email us to be removed. Newsletter addresses are used only to send the newsletter and are never sold, shared for marketing, or combined with analytics data.

Corrections and contact messages

When you use our corrections form or email us, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically a message and, optionally, an email address if you would like a reply. We use this information only to investigate the correction or answer your query, in line with our Corrections Policy, and we delete it once the matter is resolved unless we need it to document a published correction.

Favourites stay in your browser

The "Save" feature stores your favourite pages in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device: it is not transmitted to us or to anyone else, we cannot see it, and clearing your browser data removes it. There is no account behind it.

Advertising partners (not yet active)

We plan to fund the site with Google AdSense, but no advertising code is active until Google approves the site. If and when ads go live, advertising cookies will only be set with your consent, and this policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated first. Our commitments about ad placement and independence are in our Advertising Policy.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we hold so little — at most a newsletter address and any correspondence — requests are usually simple: email hello@allaboutdrinks.xyz and we will respond as quickly as we can, normally within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

The site is a general-audience educational resource. Content about alcoholic drinks is intended for readers of legal drinking age, as explained in our Responsible Drinking Policy, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes and contact
